Hello and Welcome to Creative Cuisine!

Creative Cuisine is based in Milwaukee, WI and Naples, FL.  Karen Maihofer, a certified culinary Instructor with the International Assoc. of Culinary Professionals, is the owner and operator of Creative Cuisine.  Karen has trained with some of the finest chefs and cooking teachers in the world, including the late Julia  Child and James Beard and also Guilliano Buggialli in Italy, Perla Myers and Abbey Mandel. 

     Karen has taught cooking classes for more than 32 years in Milwaukee, WI and 16 years in Naples, FL.  Currently, Karen is teaching at 30 different country clubs and communities in the Naples-Ft. Myers area during the months of November and January - May.

     While she has decided to end her formal cooking classes in Milwaukee as of January, 2008, she is pursuing a new venue by offering her cooking demos as programs for groups and organizations, senior citizens centers, conventions, churches and private “in home”  parties, be it a bridal or baby shower, a birthday or anniversary or a gourmet group.  Please click on Cooking Programs and Private Parties for more info.

Karen is also the author of eight cookbooks, four of which are still available.

     Karen has taught at such places as the American Club in Kohler. WI, - the Midwest's only five star resort and hotel; Olympia Resort in Oconomowoc, WI., the William Sonoma Stores, Carson Pirie Scott stores in  Chicago, Il.  Karen was the co-host of a Milwaukee local WTMJ radio program - a culinary call in show and has done numerous cooking segments on numerous TV shows. She has also been a food writer for “Creative Living" magazine, a restaurant consultant and recipe developer for many catering companies.

     Karen is recognized by her community, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel newspaper  and her students, as having had the longest running cooking school in Milwaukee, WI.
